What an amazing tribute to an amazing man.
Larger than life character.

Remembering many good times with Cabbage at Little River.
He would scare the hell out of batsmen at one end and they took chances against me.

Uncle Alex was a true character who knew how to live life well, with a drink in hand and always a yarn to tell.
He nicknamed me “Laura Locket,” a name that made me feel like I was part of something special.
The world feels a little quieter without him, but the laughter and memories he gave us will stay with us always.
We will cherish the time that we are so grateful to have spent with him. We’ll miss you greatly, Uncle Alex. Rest easy.
Love Laura, Craig, Amelia, and Elsie
Our sincere thoughts are with you all today.
Was a great friend of the late Ron & Nell & Family (Bamganie)
A larger than life man. Always loved a chat & a laugh.
Will be sadly missed .
R.I.P big fella.
Deepest sympathy to Denise , Joanne & Mark. Xo
Today we say goodbye to our Uncle Al.
A big man with a big presence and generous heart.
You always made us laugh and Hamilton Christmas’ won’t be the same without you.
Thinking of my beautiful Aunty Niecey, Joanne and Issac, Mark and Nat (and their little baby).
An angel in heaven that is sure to look after you all.
To my dear Uncle Alex, or as we all know him…The Bolt.
My memory is filled with wonderful moments connected by your unbridled energy, laughter, generosity, and love.
You always brought your A-game to every occasion, grinning ear to ear, your cheeky boyish nature touching everyone around you.
For nearly 50 years, I cherished your “G’DAY TIGER!!!” greeting as you burst into rooms.
Like my wonderful Uncle Peter, you were someone I looked up to.
You taught me family values, community, hard work, and the joy of sport — leading from the front.
You were universally loved, perhaps by no one more than Mum — so much that she named me after you. A name I will always wear with pride.
Your sudden departure is tragic, but I’m thankful to have been part of your life. I hope everyone here recalls a special moment with you to draw a smile from when needed. If anyone needs one, call me—I’ve got hundreds.
To my dear Auntie Denise, cousin Jo, and cousin Mark: I’m thinking of you.
To Uncle Pete and Mum: I wish I was there with you, but I’m there in spirit.
RIP Uncle Bolt. I love you. You’re a legend.
From all of us: Matthew Alexander, Cameron Alexander, Poppy Alexander & Felix Alexander.
Sending deepest condolences to Denise and family.
Thinking of you all.
Love from Cheryl Willey xx 💕
To my dear Uncle Alec, thank you for always being such a happy loving Uncle. Always greeting us with your big smile and always up for a good time.
The nickname you called me always made me feel special every time you said it ‘Jackie-Lane’ I will miss hearing you say it.
I’ve used the word ‘always’ a lot here but that’s how you were, extremely consistent in the way you showed up and how you lived your life to the fullest. Doing what you love with those you loved most.
Whenever anyone gave you a compliment you would say “That’s the kinda man I am.” We loved hearing you say this and of course heard it often. As there is plenty to say about the man you were.
One Easter Holiday camping at Wye River, no one could find the eggs in the morning. The Easter Bunny had too many drinks the night before and when asked where they were, he couldn’t remember!
Nannas potato salad was something you and I both particularly loved. You would race me to Nannas fridge telling her not to give all the potato salad to Jackie! I’d happily let you win, because Nanna always hid a small bowl just for me to make sure I didn’t miss out.
You were a big man with a big presence. You are already greatly missed by all those who loved you and Christmas celebrations most certainly won’t be the same without you.
RIP Uncle Bolt, you lived a great life and touched the lives of so many.
Always your niece, Jackie-Lane, Dennis, Baylee, Beau and Isabella
Remembering a great man, a genial giant on & off the field.
Condolences to Denise, family & friends.
Alan & Anne Randall.
A loveable character with a huge heart.
Always a joke, a laugh or a word of advice.
A life that was lived in full.
My dear brother Alex was many things to many people.
To me a lifetime of memorable moments. A childhood filled with mischief & adventures.
As a teen, my chaperone as dad would only let me go on a date if he was there to protect me😂
As an adult he was always there for me when I needed him. His support & love new no bounds.
His Sporting ability was known far & wide.
As a footballer his career saw him acknowledged with many Trophies & awards. His generosity imparting his knowledge, experience & skills to up & coming young footballers was always appreciated.
As a cricketer he was known as the “Bolt”. A fast bowler, with a fierce expression. Many batsmen would find their knees knocking in terror, as he delivered the ball at lightning speed 😳
As a fisherman, a life long passion. From our early days at St Helens pier catching flathead to magnificent snapper caught out at sea.
Not to mention his love of hunting. Early days of shooting rabbits with his trusty Slug gun to serious hunting in the bush.
All these things & more made Alex the man he was. “Big Al” the loveable Larrikin.
It is with a broken heart that I say farewell to my dear brother Alex.
Always loved, sadly missed, with me always.
Your loving sister Maree❤️
