We care and share your sorrow. David,
Sandra and Emma entered our lives many years ago.
David and I taught together, or rather, David taught me how to enjoy teaching.
He was full of laughter and fun and the children adored and respected him.
Then we left and a lifetime passed.
When we returned few years ago, we reached out to the Cowan's. They made us feel that only a moment had passed. It truly was like we never left.
David will forever be in my heart and our memories.
He was a dear friend and mentor.
We will meet again.

Dear David, dear hostdad, dear friend.
I think you of a lot - very often it makes me smile when I think of you and our time together. You took care of me and helped me when I was a bit lost as a young boy in a big world. You had a lot of love to give and your friendly smile and behavior helped me a lot. I wish I could have been there with you more. But I will always keep you in my heart, and I am very grateful for having you as a hostdad. We had a special connection and relationship and we always had a good laugh when we spoke together. I am so sad that we shall not speak together again. I really miss you. Thank you for brightening my life. I think of Sandra and Emma and your whole family… I wish I could give you a long hug. I think of you all the time.

What a wonderful man.
David spent a year with us in the UK with Sandra. He taught my year 6 class with me and he was so much fun. We became great friends with great fun and laughter. Always catching up when they came to the UK. I loved hearing his voice on the phone and surprising them at the airport.
A true true gentleman very much missed.
