To my old mate David,
Deeply saddened to hear of your recent passing and my deepest condolences to Peta, Olivia and Spencer.
I very much cherish our times as young kids playing kick to kick until dusk on Carrol Road.
You will be sadly missed.
RIP David
Taken from the world far too early.
A great bloke, honest to a tee.
Never afraid to support those in need or to call out BS.
Thanks for being a great neighbour, mate, fellow boatie, lifesaver and competitor.
I’ll miss you buddy.
To our most admired cousin Dabis,
You always had a gravity of your own, naturally attracting people towards your fun and joyful ways.
As kids, we looked up to you because of your never-ending energy, innocently mischievous ways, and hilarious recital of all of the funniest Simpsons quotes.
As adults, we admire your huge warm heart and your fierce family devotion.
You had a way of bringing everyone together in the most wonderful and memorable ways.
We always thought you were the coolest, and wanted to follow in your footsteps.
Something we will still endeavour to do in our lives.
You’ve left so many marks on this earth and taught us so many valuable lessons.
The ocean is a tonic to soothe any soul
Don’t take yourself too seriously
Cherish your family & friends
The world is your playground, so go out and play.
Love you Dabis, miss you endlessly.

A terrific bloke who’ll be truly missed by all who knew him!
His ability to keep his friends smiling was legendary.
His devotion to family was absolute and his interest in all things ocean unwavering.
His gift as an artist was something that amazed (from boxer shorts to grass growers!) – vale great man!
Poves
Alec and Marian Rowan along with myself & my siblings Meredith, Andrea and Scott are so saddened by the passing of David.
We have life long memories as a family of spending time with David, Mitt, Pam and Georgina, growing up….the laughs were always a plenty as were the shenanigans fuelled by Mitt and Dad.
Giving us huge laughter last night reflecting on many of David’s moments in time with us….David struggling to pronounce the “t” sound as a young child it would sound a lot more like “f”and every time a Truck would come Mitt would say….”Lorrie Dave, Lorrie…it’s a Lorrie!!! ”as Dave got excited about the approaching vehicle, the time we rode in the back of our cattle truck down the road in Alexandra and Dave threw cow pats out the side landing one right on a Police car passing us. When David would arrive at Thornton head to toe in Cats gear and football boots and his awful puppet in hand that he would terrorise me with.
And then slide nights in the sunken lounge when we as a family would stay at Scenic Road. So many photos, stories and laughter, David was always smiling and happy.
Our deepest condolences to Pam, Peta, Olivia, Spencer, Georgina and Andrew, this is sad beyond words.
Xx
A loving, caring father to Spencer and Olivia and a wonderful husband to his beloved Wife, Peta.
Always was David selfless not only to close friends and family, but towards others around him.
Waves of shock and sadness occurred as I heard the tragic news.
Fly high, and rest in peace.
– Harry Santalucia
Dave, you were the salt of the earth, and you will always be in my thoughts, on my artistic endeavours.
We hold our memories of times shared, close to our heart.
Your second cousin Anne and Mary
We are incredibly sad following the sudden passing of Dave.
You will be missed and we are eternally grateful for the support and friendship with Harvey.
Sending lots of love to Peta, Olivia and Spencer.
Greg, Kirsten and Harvey Kilpatrick
My beautiful nephew.
A wonderful, shining star of a man.
Such a happy presence to be in…always.
But the calm, happy go lucky surface concealed a deep thinker.
Strong currents flowed there.
Dave’s talents were many and various and he was all the more marvellous because of the spread of his interests ranging from philosophical literature to deepest, darkest boganism.
His loss makes no sense.
Too young, too strong, too beautiful, too loved and needed by too many.
Just too wrong.
I treasure my many happy times with Dave.
He will live forever in the happy vault of my memory.
Much love. Rod and Sharen
Dave, we will always treasure the memories of the times we spent with you, Peta, Oli and Spence. You were such an awesomely energetic, positive and talented guy. We cherish the photos that you took when we were together … a snapshot of fun times on the farm & in Augusta. Your love for life was infectious and your love for your family was endless. We will miss you and your smile and laughter. Thinking of you whenever we hit the bike trails and the beach.
Rest easy dear friend.
With love from Gail, Eugene, Riley and Josh
Our wonderful, fun loving and talented Dabis, we simply can’t comprehend that you won’t be here anymore.
Your well considered set of values and way you lived your life are things that set you apart.
You said “do the fun things first”, you cared deeply for others, you had the most infectious giggle & a unique artistic talent which were all so wonderfully you.
We’ll miss you forever and see you in Olivia & Spencer who you nurtured and loved so wholeheartedly.
We’ll never forget you Dave and we’re grateful to have had you in our lives but it should have been for so much longer.
Deepest condolences to Peta, Olivia, Spencer, Pam, Georgie, Andrew, Rory, Lachie, Angus & Jonty.
Our love and sincere sympathy to Peta, Pam and Davids children and extended family.
You are in our thoughts,
David, Cheryl & Cameron Bent
It is so hard to comprehend!!
You were one of a kind Mitts, one of the best:
Humble, kind, talented, overly enthusiastic with an amazing outlook on life.
So many laughs and memories shared over the years.
You will be sadly missed.
Never forgotten.
RIP Mitts.
Love to all the family.

So much love to Peta, Oli and Spencer, Aunty Pam, Georgie, Andrew, Rory, Lachie, Angus and Jonty.
My goodness, how he loved you all – and was loved by all of us who were lucky enough to share our lives with such a beautiful soul.
Rest in Peace David and thank you for the example you have left us.
This just can’t be real.
To Peta, Ollie and Spence
Dave was one of the first friends I made in WA.
He was an amazing husband to Peta and father to Olivia and Spence.
Always up for an adventure and rowing mad!!
We had some great times out in the surf boats catching a wave and talking all things rowing.
Your energy and love for life and family will be missed.
Love Kirsten and Nyssa Spindler
One of the kindest, gentlest, funniest and most creative people to grace the earth.
You always filled a room with your cheeky grin and easy laugh Dave and will be missed more than words can say.
We were so blessed to have you in our lives and family and so grateful to have known you and loved you.
I offer my sincerest of commiserations for the loss of a truly remarkable and gracious man.
Dave was a fantastic father to Spencer and Olivia.
I cannot begin to describe the heartbreak of David’s passing, he will forever be a role model for me, and I shall cherish our coastal drives and surfs along with the unforgettable memories and laughs. Thank you for everything you have done. You are the very best of us all.
– Harvey Kilpatrick
Dave was a big man with a big heart.
Loved his family, caring and considerate to everyone.
He was an inspiration to me with his easy going, happy and gentle nature, and deep pride in his family.
He had so much to live for and to give to everyone around him.
So sad I cannot have another pint of Guinness with him.
The world is very much a worse place without him being around.
I will miss him.
You gorgeous fellow – gone far too soon but will always be remembered for your beautiful heart, soul, humour and talent.
Our love to all the family!
Lynne Ball & Geoff
Our dear Friend Dave.

Our wonderful, force-of-nature Dabis.
There was never a family event that was not better for you being at it.
You lifted everyone up with that smile that split your face in two.
It has been a joy and a privilege to say “family” and mean you.

To Peta, Olivia and Spencer we will never forget the good times and great laughs we had.
