Jennifer Ann ‘Jen’ Toohey
3rd August 1942 – 10th May 2025
Eldest daughter of the late Janet and George Shanahan,
sister of Aileen RSJ, Peter and Breta, and brother-in-law Lawrence Cohen.
Jenny died peacefully after a short illness, surrounded by her three children.

Beautiful Jen, I will be forever grateful for the impact you had on my life.

I’m so sorry to hear of Jen’s passing. She was a great support when my mum passed. A beautiful caring woman. May she fly high with the angels and be welcomed by our Lord Jesus. May she watch over her loved family and may you be comforted by a lifetime of memories.
Dearest Jenny,
What a legend.
Your laugh was infectious.
Your spirit and guidance through the journey are things that we will take with us forever.
If we came with problems, you would not solve them outright but you would walk us through and when we got the answer, you would celebrate with us.
We will miss those lovely drop ins and cups of coffee but we know you’ll still be dropping in and Julie will always have the kettle on for you.

Beyond the many blessings of a long silence… tonight, as my heart feels heavy with sadness; the silence speaks to the love and light of a strong, loving woman who taught others how to sit, and be with grace.

She was a wonderful mentor to me when I started my teaching career at St.Andrew’s.

Aunt Jenny Toohey (nee Shanahan) was well known and respected in the Werribee community both for her work as a teacher and for her work with the church. Condolences to her children and their descendants. Rest In Peace. x
