A Memorable Service, Peter would have appreciated the closing song, we had great times with all the Colbert family here in Cloncurry. We had fantastic wine and music nights listening to your collection, sometimes till sunrise. Our music collection (all on vinyl of course) has expanded since those days!!
We are thinking of you all, Webby and Jen.
Merle, even though we couldn’t be with you, we were with you in spirit!
Both John and I will sorely miss Peter … he was a great friend and colleague.
Love to you and the family, Jenny & John Eltham
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Xx 🙏
The Watchem Colberts.
I’m saddened to hear of Peter’s passing, a genuine gentleman.
Peter helped start my music career way back when I was 11, drumming for me and Robert up in Cloncurry for our first live performance playing wipeout at one of the local pubs. Also putting up with me and Robert making terrible noise in his house.
25 years later and I’m still playing.
Peter had a heart of gold and will be missed by so many.
Sending my love to the Colbert family

A professional colleague who became a friend.
His interactions with people were marked with humanity, integrity and intelligence.
I valued his technical acumen.
My deepest condolences to Merle and his family.
My old and good friend Peter.
You were a real gentleman.
I am sad we did not catch up these last couple of years.
I remember fondly our times on the golf course and our trip to Kyrgyzstan.
Rest in peace dear Uncle Peter.
You truly were a wonderful soul and I pray that God will reward you in heaven.
You were an Uncle in a million, humble, kind, loving, patient and caring to all of us.
Thank you for taking care of us in December 2017 when we came up to visit.
You are certainly in a peaceful place with no pain, but we will surely miss the love and care you showed us.
You life was a blessing, your memory a treasure.
You are gone but not forgotten….
We were devastated when we heard from Merle of the passing of that wonderful man Peter.
We have beautiful memories of those years at Warrego and our last catch up of just a few years ago.
Now resting peace and looking down on that beautiful family you have left and knowing that their love for you will never fade.
Lots of love to Merle and family.
Thinking of you at this most sad time… Jeanine, Dave, Damien and Genevieve.
Dear Uncle Peter,
Sometimes the world makes no sense when a good man like you leaves us all so soon.
From the first I always remember how much you loved your family, specially Aunty Merle, your patience and humour always shone through even when we were all obviously getting loud and merry in Veisari.
I can’t ever remember you getting angry or shouting, so different from us hot blooded Corrie’s. Calm and collected you were the perfect match for Aunty Merle. For her and the kids nothing was too much and my heart goes out to them all today. As someone wiser than me once said ‘no one ever truly dies not while their memory lives on and their name spoken’ I will always remember you Uncle…I won’t say goodbye only see you later, all my love – Adrian
Peter was a wonderful man I will miss him .. my thoughts are with Merle and the family at this time.
