Goodbye mate, rest in peace.
We started out life together, then we spent many of your last days together.
I will forever treasure this.
Thank you for our beautiful children.
I miss terribly your phone calls, friendship, humour and big warm hugs.
You’re now at peace and no more pain.
It’s not goodbye, it’s see you later.

It’s hard to know what to write about my uncle ❤️
I don’t have heaps of clear memories because I was young, but I do remember bits and pieces from when we lived in Queensland and my uncle came and lived with us for a while.
I remember all of us cousins being together, playing and carrying on like we always did. I remember getting heaps of lollies and all of us eating them together 😂 and I remember some of the Christmases we spent together as a family.
They’re such little memories, but thinking about them now makes me smile and also makes me sad. At the time it was just normal life. We were kids and didn’t think twice about it. I never would have thought that years later I’d be sitting here wishing I could remember more of those little moments.
I wish I did remember more, but what has stuck with me most is just the kind of person my uncle was. He was always so gentle and kind. I remember feeling comfortable around him and him just being easy to be around. He was part of the family, part of the noise and chaos of all us cousins being together, and it just felt normal having him there.
It’s funny because I might not remember exactly what was said or everything we did, but I remember those times being happy. When I think of my uncle, my mind goes back to Queensland, being a kid, all of us cousins together, Christmases, way too many lollies 😂 and him being there with us.
I think sometimes you don’t remember every little detail about someone, but you remember how you felt around them. And when I think of my uncle, I remember someone who was gentle, kind and just had a good heart. ❤️
I really wish we could have one of those normal days again, knowing now how much those little moments would eventually mean.
Rest peacefully Uncle Steven ❤️ I’m glad I got to have you as part of my childhood and I’ll always hold onto the memories I do have.
Love you Uncle Steven ❤️

Hey Dad
I have a lifetime of words I could say but that’s saved for a memorial I’m creating.
I remember sitting with you and you said 'Don’t worry about today for tomorrow is enough worries of its own' I simply responded that’s in the Bible you said is it really!!! I said yes Dad and I read you the scripture from the book of Matthew 6:34 and Hailey's scripture I always had for her was from the book of Matthew.
Well now you have no worries reunited with Hailey.
I am doing better and getting well
Thanks for so many voicemails you left me reminding me how much you loved me
Reunited with Hailey
Forever on my mind and in my heart, Dad.
