  2. ROBERT GOLDSMITH

Herman, an exemplary Christian man whose life was a true testament to the faith he held so deeply in his heart. He had a huge smile and a signature laugh !
Herman did not just speak of his beliefs; he led by example, showing us all how to walk a path of grace, generosity, and unwavering love. His faith was the cornerstone of his being, inspiring a remarkable spirit of giving. He was profoundly generous to the church , the underprivileged, recognising the needs of others and stepping forward quietly and compassionately to help in a constructive way . He , through his generosity, helped establish a shelter, a school
and a trade training school in Cambodia .
Perhaps the most beautiful and poignant example of his character was his absolute dedication to his beloved wife Edith. In the final years of her life. Herman took on the role of caregiver with complete selflessness helping with her care at home , then in the nursing home helping with her
meals and attending to all daily cares. This tireless, devoted service was a pure demonstration of his commitment, his strength, and the depth of his marital love . Clearly his life values have been immensely influential on his children and those close to him . I am privileged to and grateful to have known him .

A lovely man in so many ways.
I always found him so encouraging.
So glad he is now with his Lord.
“Well done thou good and faithful servant”

  4. My thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.
Herman was a significant influence on my life in a social and professional sense.
As a young man starting out in my career Herman provided valuable advice.

He did not suffer fools but once you had earned his confidence, he was loyal and supportive.
He had the ability (a rare one) to be forceful and direct when required but also remained professional and importantly, a sense of humor.

We also shared a love of the Cats and I enjoyed talking footy with him.
    He will be missed.

We got to know Herman for a short time when we moved next door to him.
    His humour was delightful
Unfortunately we missed him greatly when he moved to Tasmania.

Herman was my buddy, I loved spending as much time as I could with Herman, his humour brightened my day. We went to many movies, worked on many puzzles, played bingo, had our weekly milkshakes and so many other activities that I will hold on to as precious memories. I felt blessed to get to know many in his family and to hear their fond stories of ‘life with Herman’.
I look forward to the day we meet up again in heaven.
May the family feel the comfort of God during this time.

  9. Deepest condolences to Herman’s family on the passing of a lovely man.
